Morphing our faces together

I was curious to see what our potential child could look like so I decided to use 2 photos and morph them together! The result is a bit scary, but kind of funny too! When I saw the end result I couldn't help but want to share it! It's silly I know.

On Vacation!

We are on vacation up in Lutsen, MN with the Wood clan! Talk about perfect weather and fun things to do! We've done things like mountain biking, hiking, walking, alpine sliding, and simply hanging out! Today I conquered my fear of heights for a brief moment and went up a chair lift twice. And Brent managed to hurt himself on the Alpine slide but should be fine in a few days. And our niece Audrey is being a perfect angel. What fun! More posts to come soon!

Cooking with Bao

Meet my very dear friend Bao. A talented and hard working journalist. Has a great sense of style. and the kindest soul on earth. I am going to miss him dearly. You see, I am losing another friend to New York, NY. Bao is leaving his post at the Pioneer Press and is enrolling in Le Cordon Bleu to gain culinary experience. His goal? Be a food critic for a major publication. Maybe own his own restaurant someday too.

His friendship means a lot to me as we've been through a lot of serious and not so serious episodes in our young lives. He even coached me through my purchase of Gucci sunglasses in Chicago!!! Ha! I have them somewhere still...anyway, we did a photoshoot with the purpose of getting a headshot for his future contributions to magazines. But how could you resist doing a themed culinary photoshoot!?!? Enjoy. Love,cw

Sneak Peek: Meet Brayden and his mommy

As you can see he likes to fly! Nice to meet you little guy!

List: What have I been up to?

1. Sitting in front of the computer editing photos for hours upon hours.
2. Watching the olympics.
3. Running, swimming, and lifting weights.
4. Napping.

Finn: An Adventurous Little Boy

Meet Finn...an adorable 22 month toddler boy. Enjoys rocks, water, and sticks. Searches for bears and deer. He jumps and runs. And occasionally takes a nose dive into the ground...or into a water fountain with clothes on and all. All you new parents and parents-to-be out there...beware...fearsome toddlers like Finn will keep you on your toes! Check out his cuteness.

2008 Turtleman Triathlon

This post is fantastically overdue as the Turtleman Triathlon was a week ago!?!? Anyway, better now then never! Once again I had a great time spectating with Nicole. We were a little worried when Anton didn't come in when we expected, but we are relieved that he finished despite his weird stomach pains! Turtleman was one of Curt's last races of the season...kind of sad. But fall and winter will serve as a time of rest and refreshing! Onward and upward we go!
Anyway, that same weekend we had quite a blast visiting family in Mankato (ate dinner at the great Mongolian BBQ and had a shower for Audrey) and went to a wedding reception for Curt's friends, Jerrod and Susannah. Congratulations to the happy couple!!!! Woohoo!

Sneak Preview: Meet Bao

We had a photoshoot for my friend Bao today. It was lots of fun! Stay tuned for his culinary themed slideshow! In other news, it's been pretty busy yet fun and relaxing. I'm a bit behind in the blogging. I want to accomplish a number of things before we leave for vacation. Stay tuned...love,cw

a favorite moment from the Games

what's not to like about the olympics!?!? so i just found out that the Chinese spent about 33 million dollars alone on just the opening ceremonies. holy buckets. my jaw is dropping to the floor. anyway, our favorite moment so far is probably the men's 4x100 freestyle relay. i'm guessing that in every living room across america there were other people, just like us, who got chills in our spines and were yelling in excitement when the men had the swim of the century!!!!

smashing the world record

Curt pointing out how USA's anchor is swimming smart by hugging the lane

riding the wave of the frenchmen

a group hug

winning by a touch

his reactions are worth a Gold medal

Curt knew immediately after the results that this would go down as one of the most spectacular relay finishes ever!!!! And yes, we've watched the finish over and over and over. Thank goodness for our tivo!

List: Reasons/Vision for doing photography

So here is a RANDOM list of why I do photography and where I want to take my business:
1. It's artistic and gives you an opportunity to serve.
2. It's fun to bring joy to others
3. There is something special about freezing a moment in time.
4. Long term goal: I would like to use it to bring awareness to "injustices".
5. Long term goal: I would like to document the world while traveling with my family.
6. Help people tell their story through images.
7. Long term goal: Be a master of shooting in natural light.
8. The act of taking pictures is fun.

Also, this is just an opinion, but for me to take the best pictures you really have to love your subject and see something great in them.

Let's see if this list changes in the future!

Audrey and Lucy: Best Friends Forever

Okay...so here's a sneak peak of the photoshoots for Audrey and Lucy from today. They are both sooooo very precious. Just thinking about them makes me want to squish em, hug em, and kiss em! Ha! Seriously, they are so cute and made excellent baby models.

I'm pretty excited to hang out with Audrey some more at Lutsen in a few weeks! And Lucy, when can we hang out again!?!?!

In other biz...i'm totally pumped for the Olympics!!! I get really obsessed! I'll be glued to the TV for the next couple of weeks! I've always loved them! There is so much to take in...the uniting of nations, the diplomacy, the agony of defeat, the triumph of victory, the numerous individual stories of sacrifice, realizing that as people we are all connected, the beauty and artistry in what the human body can do! Ahhhhhh! GO Team USA!!!!!! (p.s. it might be hard to get me out of the house the next few weeks so apologies in advance!!!!) love, cw

Trees galore yet minutes from the city!

I did another house photoshoot for Angie and Eric on Tuesday. This lovely home is located near Golden Valley within minutes of Uptown and Downtown. If you like being secluded in a tree-lined neighborhood, but want easy access to the action in Mpls or St.Paul, this home is for you!

Firehouse 50

On Saturday Curt along with Brian Bich, Kevin O'Connor, and David Thompson raced together in a team bike race. They rode 50 miles in under 2 hours which is about 28 miles per hour! That's fast! To get a sensation of what that speed is like, stick your head out the window next time you drive 30 mph! Which is exactly what I did during their race! For the first time ever in my life I got to drive along the bikers during the entire race! SO MUCH FUN!!!! I took pictures out the window while David's brother Brent did the driving! We had a blast following along taking pictures and ringing the cow bell! I think I'm now ready to ride on the back of a motorcycle to take pictures of the Tour de France! Ha!

My favorite picture from the weekend

This is not my best picture from the weekend, but it is my favorite one. Why? Maybe because at this moment I let out a huge sigh of relief. Up until this moment I was really hoping for Curt to have a safe race, one without any crazy mishaps. I was also hoping for Curt to have a race he was happy about. So, yes, I was a bit nervous. Kind of shaking with the camera in my hand too. The picture is taken at the finish, when he's coming in from the run. I could tell he was happy, so I got really happy too.

weekend update

Hi friends in the blogging world! We just returned from an action packed weekend. You can check Curt's blog for an update or check back here for some pictures later in the week!

Love,
